The Santeria Priestess

The story of one Santera and her determination to preserve and spread her religion into the United States during the turbulence of Castro’s takeover in Cuba. This psychologically lurid historical novel begins in the 1950s. Reigning Priestess Martina grooms her daughter, Marie, as her successor.

The island is mobster controlled when Communism takes over. Parents fear removal of their children, who are sent to camps or to Russia. Businesses become government operated. Owners are displaced, murdered, or imprisoned. Marie has only sons. Her eldest should one day be a Santero, but he marries an American girl.

Now his wife fears for the torture and lives of her children.
